SUBWAY® Restaurants Team Up With The Salvation Army In Wildfire Relief Efforts 03/07/2012
(Denver & Colorado Springs, Colorado) July 3rd, 2012 -‐ Warm temperatures, combined with dry & arid terrain, low humidity, high winds, and dangerous lightning storms have recently resulted in some of the worst wildfires the drought-parched state of Colorado has ever seen. Though local and national aid has been sent to help contain and extinguish the flames, the fires continue to rage on in Denver, Colorado Springs, and a number of other areas of the state.
Reports of evacuation, smoke inhalation hazards, property damage, and even death have been hitting the airwaves recently, as has news of President Obama's recent trip to the disaster--‐stricken area. Firefighters are working tirelessly to hold back these wildfires and prevent any further damage, yet there is still much work to be done.
SUBWAY® Restaurants pride themselves on their strong connection to the community. Many Colorado locations began releasing "FREE SUB" coupons to various relief groups and affected communities last month. As part of their continued efforts to aid the community, locally--‐owned and operated Colorado SUBWAY® Restaurants are teaming up with The Salvation Army to provide further financial relief to those in need. On Saturday, July 7th and Sunday, July 8th, participating Colorado SUBWAY® Restaurant locations will be donating $1.00 to The Salvation Army Fire Relief Fund for every FOOTLONGTM sandwich sold.
With a lofty, yet attainable, goal of $50,000 in estimated Donations for the weekend, the management and employees of SUBWAY® Restaurants feel that this simple gesture has the potential to make a serious positive impact. Visit a participating Colorado area SUBWAY® Restaurant today for more details, and don't forget to stop by this upcoming weekend to provide financial assistance to those affected by this terrible disaster.
